The Earl Soham Roadside Wardens scheme was started in 2001 by Roger Sykes. The aim of the scheme is to keep litter off the streets. The job of the 'wardens' is to keep a designated section of their immediate part of their road free from litter. Black bags, rubber gloves and litter grabbers are supplied by Suffolk Coastal District Council. The scheme has grown to 18 people covering almost the entire village and a few footpaths as well. However, more volunteers are always welcome. If you would like to get involved, please contact Roger Sykes at PamRogSykes@aol.com.
