Renewed appeal to trace missing man – Gislingham

posted 23 Jan 2020, 09:56 by Earl Soham Parish Council   [ updated 23 Jan 2020, 10:03 ]

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing 47-year-old man from Gislingham and are issuing a renewed appeal for help to locate him.

Lee Fitzgerald was dropped off at 8.55am on Thursday 9 January in Chapel Street, Diss by a friend and he was reported missing to police at around 1.35pm on Monday 13 January.

Police believe that Lee travelled via train from Diss to Norwich on the 9.36am service on 9 January.

Upon arrival in Norwich, Lee then travelled via train from Norwich towards Great Yarmouth on the 10.36am service.

Lee is described as male, 6ft 1ins tall, of slim build, with brown hair which is receding. He was last seen wearing a blue hoody, the same one he is wearing in two CCTV images that police are now able to issue. The CCTV images were captured at Great Yarmouth railway station at 11.06am on 9 January.

Police would be interested to hear from anyone who may have seen a man matching this description at any campsites, guest houses or hotels in the coastal areas along the Suffolk and Norfolk border.

At this stage, police do not have any evidence to believe Lee has come to any harm by a third party but officers remain keen to see him return home safely.

Anyone who believes they have seen Lee, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact Suffolk police on 101, quoting CAD reference 161 of 13 January.
